A festive concert was held at the Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert” to mark the Republic Day of Kazakhstan. One of the evening’s most memorable moments was a performance by a guest from the United States, who played Kurmangazy’s famous küy Adai, El.kz reports citing the press service of Qazaqconcert.
The festive programme featured traditional Kazakh songs, küys, national dances and performances by artistic ensembles. The stage welcomed distinguished cultural figures of Kazakhstan, laureates of the Daryn State Youth Award, as well as winners of national and international competitions.
Particular attention was drawn to Mr Jeff from the United States, who has a keen interest in playing the dombra. The visiting musician performed Adai, one of the best-known works by Kurmangazy.
The American guest’s performance was met with enthusiastic applause. The familiar melody, performed by a foreign dombra player, became one of the highlights of the festive evening.
As noted by Qazaqconcert, performances of this kind demonstrate growing international interest in Kazakh national art.
The concert was held in celebration of Republic Day, which Kazakhstan commemorates annually on October, 25. The festive evening provided an opportunity to showcase the richness of the country’s musical heritage and cultural traditions.
