Ambassador of Kazakhstan presented his credentials to President of Azerbaijan
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Baiel, El.kz reports citing the Kazakh MFA.
The Kazakh diplomat noted that it was a great honor for him to represent his country in the fraternal Republic of Azerbaijan. A. Bayel stressed that he would work on further promotion of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the instructions of the heads of state of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the level of active cooperation between the two countries, and stressed that his visit to Kazakhstan and the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan gave a great impetus to the expansion of cooperation. The Azerbaijani leader expressed confidence that the trusting relationship between him and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will be the key to further strengthening the Kazakh-Azerbaijani fraternal ties.
The Head of Azerbaijan said that the transport and logistics sector is one of the main areas of bilateral cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the joint infrastructure projects being implemented today create a good opportunity to expand the volume of cargo transportation. He also stressed the importance of the recently started transportation of Kazakh oil through the territory of his country. The President of Azerbaijan wished the Ambassador success in his activities.
In turn, A. Bayel congratulated the President and the people of Azerbaijan on the Independence Day, and also paid tribute to the blessed memory of Heydar Aliyev, whose 100th anniversary is widely celebrated these days.
The diplomat agreed that the priority in bilateral cooperation is the development of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of projects of great geo-economic importance not only for our countries, but also for the entire region. Among them are the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the laying of a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, and the diversification of Kazakh oil exports.
At the meeting, it was also noted that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan fruitfully cooperate in the international arena, including within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. The preparations for the 10th anniversary summit of the OTS, which are to be held this year in Kazakhstan, were discussed.
