Almaty schoolchildren win prestigious awards at international robotics championship in China
Guangzhou hosted the China FTC Guangzhou Offseason Event, which was attended by more than 200 students, including two teams from Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to the akimat of the southern capital.
The PID team from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Almaty won the Motivate Award.
The second team, Queue from the Bilim-Innovation Lyceum in Almaty, received the Perseverance Award.
"The achievements of the two Kazakh teams demonstrate their ability to compete in the international arena. Our children were among the leaders on two days of the championship. We congratulate our children on their awards," said Head of "Almaty Daryny" of the Department of Education Karimghazy Gulnur.
The team received a ticket to the world championship during the Central Asia FIRST Championship, organized by the USTEM Robotics” with the support of the republican scientific and practical center “Daryn” with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Winning the championship gives our schoolchildren access to grants at the world's top universities.
