Almaty and Busan launch direct flights

Direct flight has been officially launched between Almaty and Busan on May 1, El.kz reports with reference to the Almaty Akimat . The new route connects Almaty with South Korea’s largest port city, Busan.

Flights will run twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Departure from Almaty is scheduled for 11:40 p.m arriving in Busan at 09:35 the following day (local time). The flight duration is approximately six hours.

According to Baek Seung-yong, head of the Eastar Jet branch at Gimhae Airport, the load factor for the first flight was approximately 99 percent.

According to Almaty authorities over 23,000 travelers from South Korea visited the city last year. It is expected that direct flights will help increase tourist flow and strengthen business ties.

Busan is recognized as South Korea's largest logistics hub, playing a vital role in international trade, shipping, and the technology industry.

Busan is one of South Korea's most unique cities, where modern skyscrapers stand alongside ancient temples and traditional fishing quarters. The flight marks another significant step in expanding Kazakhstan's transport links with Asia.
