Almaty Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs hosts international cyber conference
Under the auspices of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, an international scientific and practical conference "Cybercrime in the CIS: current trends and directions of counteraction" was held at the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, El.kz reports with reference to the Polisia.kz.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Bureau for Combating Organized Crime and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth countries, experts from IT companies.
From the Kazakh side, in addition to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the conference was attended by students of the faculty of training of middle commanding personnel and advanced training courses, including employees of the "K" departments, undergraduates and doctoral students, and the teaching staff of the academy.
Opening the conference, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Sadenov noted that digital technologies and services are actively spreading into all areas, creating amenities for citizens. However, their development not only opens up new opportunities, but also gives criminals new tools. Therefore, the issue of countering cybercrime is becoming increasingly relevant.
Aydos Rysbayev, Head of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, introduced the experience of countering cybercrime, including Internet fraud. The meeting discussed the current state and trends in the development of cybercrime in the CIS, the detection and prevention of crimes in the field of information and telecommunication technologies, the interaction of units to combat cybercrime of the CIS member states.
The experience of countries in countering crimes related to the sale of drugs in a contactless way, countering modern information threats has been studied.
The guests got acquainted with the work of the cyber laboratory and cyber range of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - a modern training platform, where law enforcement officers are trained in the disclosure and investigation of offenses in the infocommunication environment.
