AI to become deputy akim of Alatau City

An AI agent is set to take the position of deputy akim in Alatau City, El.kz reports.
For the first time in Kazakhstan, a specialized AI agent will serve as the deputy akim, analyzing urban data, tracking citizens’ requests, and optimizing the work of public utilities. Its task is to help make decisions based on objective statistics and feedback from residents.
Alatau City will become the first city in the country where artificial intelligence is integrated into the urban governance system at an official level. The AI will process real-time data, provide recommendations, model infrastructure load, and assess the efficiency of municipal processes.
As part of the President’s directives, the transport scheme, engineering networks, and planning solutions are set to be updated.
The chief international advisor for designing Alatau City is Wong Heng Fai, Chairman of Asia Infrastructure Solutions Singapore. He is a recognized expert in urban planning who has participated in infrastructure projects in Singapore, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Rwanda, and other countries.
