Agreement between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on legal assistance approved
Under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, a meeting of the Chamber was held, at which senators considered the Law "On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 26, 1996" and voiced their deputy requests, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Opening the meeting, the Speaker of the House focused the attention of senators on the tasks that the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced during the 32nd session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Maulen Ashimbayev noted the importance of uniting common efforts towards the implementation of measures to strengthen social harmony and national unity.
"In his speech, the President of the country outlined a number of tasks designed to ensure social harmony and national unity. As you know, this area is one of the priorities for the Senate. Our colleagues, appointed on the proposal of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, and other senators are actively working in this direction. The Senate will continue to contribute to the implementation of measures aimed at strengthening social harmony and national unity," Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized, addressing the participants of the meeting.
During the meeting, the senators considered and approved the Law "On Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the Provision of Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Cases of August 26, 1996".
The agreement is aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation and providing mutual legal assistance in civil and criminal matters.
