80% of textbooks in Kazakhstan have been digitized
94% of primary school textbooks have been successfully converted to electronic format, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Education.
This is an important step towards the digitalization of education in the country. The state examination confirmed the quality and compliance of 80% of school textbooks with digital format, and they were included in the list of educational and methodological complexes.
The development of digital textbooks was carried out by 11 publishing houses in Kazakhstan, which contributed to the introduction of innovative methods of teaching disciplines. To support teachers in the use of new resources, methodological recommendations have been developed.
At the moment, 94% of primary school textbooks, 81% of grades 5-9 textbooks and 61% of grades 10-11 textbooks have been successfully translated into an electronic version. It is planned that by 2024 all academic disciplines will be fully covered by digital textbooks.
In addition, schools actively use digital educational resources with multimedia content as additional educational material. At the moment, more than 50 thousand such resources have already been created. Since the beginning of 2023, 6.7 thousand schools have already been connected to the number of digital educational resources. This resource is actively used by up to 3 million students and teachers. In total, more than 50 thousand video lessons covering all classes have been published on digital educational resources.
Such efforts to digitalize education open up new prospects for the educational environment and support the active development of educational technologies in Kazakhstan.
