In the capital of France, in the Paris center of culture and cinematography "Forum des images", the opening ceremony of the 5th Festival of Kazakh Cinema was held. This festival was a bright end to the annual cultural season "Kazakhstan Autumn in France", organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France, El.kz reports.
More than 200 people gathered at the film festival, the opening of which was decorated with the screening of the film "Kyz Zhibek". This film presented the culture, traditions and customs of the Kazakh people. The guest of honor of the festival was the Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Meruert Utekesheva, known for her role in the film adaptation of the legendary epic by Gabit Musrepov.
Among the guests of honor from the French side were Jean-Marc and Martine Thirouan, the management of the International Asian Film Festival in Vesoul, as well as the famous French actor Sami Naseri. They noted the active development of Kazakh cinema, its growing authority and international recognition, expressing wishes for further success to the festival.
Within the framework of the festival, a business platform was organized with the participation of professionals of the film industry of Kazakhstan and France. The purpose of the event was to strengthen partnerships in the field of co-production and to hold business meetings between the film schools of the two countries.
On December 2, in the building of the Embassy of Kazakhstan, a screening of the romantic drama "Blind Love" was held, filmed according to the script of the Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Denis Ten.
The festival ended with the screening of the film "Dosmukasan", which tells about the history of the legendary Kazakh vocal and instrumental ensemble of the same name.
