An official ceremony of signing a memorandum was held between the akimat of the Almaty region and a group of investors regarding the creation of the necessary conditions and support for the project for the development of the Oi-Qaragai resort, El.kz reports with reference to the akimat of the region.

Within the framework of the agreements reached, until 2028 it is planned to expand the mountain resort, namely the construction of cable cars, an increase in the length of ski slopes, the equipment of slopes, sites for paragliders, glampings, restaurants, lakes and an ethno-town for guests. In the process of implementing the project, measures of state support were identified in three main areas, said Rustam Isatayev, deputy akim of the Almaty region.

According to him, the leadership of the region is ready to assist in the issues of bringing engineering and transport infrastructure, as well as provide administrative support.

"Within the framework of the signed memorandum, it is planned to carry out significant work to improve the engineering infrastructure, namely, the supply of additional electricity with a capacity of 15 MW, the expansion of the water supply system to create artificial snow on the slopes up to 100 thousand cubic meters per year, as well as the provision of 700 cubic meters per day for household needs.

Another important step is the reconstruction of a section of the gas pipeline with an increase in its capacity to 1000 cubic meters per hour.  In addition, a project will be implemented for the construction of a road for cargo and passenger transportation from the village of Baibulak to Oi-Qaragai. And the last, but no less important step is the reconstruction of the Talgar tract - Oi-Qaragai road, with the installation of lighting and an increase in capacity," said Rustam Issatayev.

Concluding his speech, the deputy akim of the region emphasized the priority importance of the development of the tourism industry in the region. He expressed confidence that taking into account the huge potential of the region, the development of tourism is becoming a key factor for overall progress. Emphasizing that the investments and attention paid to tourism not only contribute to the improvement of this industry, but also have a positive effect on the overall economic and social development of the region.
