568.9 billion tenge invested in economy of Abay region
The Head of State received the akim of the region Abay Nurlan Urankhayev, El.kz reports citing Akorda .
The President heard a report on the results of the socio-economic development of the Abay region for 2023.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that last year investments worth 568.9 billion tenge were made in the region's economy with an increase of 132.7%, while private investment increased by 131.5%. The number of operating SMEs reached 53.2 thousand with an increase of 107.1%.
Nurlan Urankhayev said that in 2023, industrial production increased by 105.1%, agriculture by 103.5%, and the volume of construction work increased by 119.1%.
On behalf of the President, the Comprehensive Plan for Socio-Economic Development is being implemented in the region, consisting of 102 measures with an investment volume of 1.9 trillion tenge.
Particular attention is paid to the development of interregional cross-border cooperation. Together with the Xinjiang Uyghur Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, agreements were reached on joint investment projects and the construction of a temporary crossing point on the border.
In the social sphere, within the framework of the National Project "Comfortable School", it is planned to build 11 schools for 5,700 places by 2025. As part of the implementation of the National Project "Modernization of Rural Healthcare" until 2025, 65 primary health care facilities will be built in the region for 10.8 billion tenge.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions for the further development of the region and improving the well-being of residents.
