21st International Zhautykov Olympiad started in Astana
International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO) gather the best schoolchildren from 15 countries of the world, El.kz reports.
From January 13 to 17, 2025, the 21st International Zhautykov Olympiad in Maths, Physics and Computer Science is being held in Astana for the first time. The event was organized by the National School of Physics and Mathematics and the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
About 700 schoolchildren and 150 leaders from 15 countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Mongolia, participate in the Olympiad. Teams were formed on the basis of national subject Olympiads.
The competition lasts five days and includes two rounds.
Participants will demonstrate their knowledge in theoretical and practical rounds, and the winners will receive diplomas, medals and memorable gifts. The Olympiad traditionally contributes to the popularization of physical and mathematical sciences among schoolchildren, the strengthening of international cooperation and the exchange of experience between educational institutions.
