The implementation of the Law "On Professional Qualifications" was discussed at a meeting of the National Council chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova.

The event was attended by deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, vice-ministers of central government agencies, deputy akims of regions, representatives of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and employers

As noted by the participants of the meeting, graduates of colleges and universities do not always find a job in their profession or are not employed at all, mainly due to the discrepancy between the skills, abilities and qualifications of applicants and the requests of employers. Today, the task is to create a strong connection between educational institutions and enterprises to train personnel who will fully meet the requirements of the market.

Within the framework of the Law "On Professional Qualifications", domestic experts are developing new professional standards. Educational organizations adjust curricula on this basis. And independent Certification Centers are already assessing the competencies of graduates. Such a division of tasks makes it possible to identify "bottlenecks" in the issue of personnel training. It was noted that the National Qualifications Authority, established under the Ministry of Labor, fully supervises and accompanies this direction.

To date, more than 200 standards have been brought into line with modern requirements, and 20 more have been created. The work has been fully digitized.

"In the near future, professional standards will replace the existing qualification handbooks. Based on them, they will begin to determine the employee's functionality and the level of remuneration," said Tamara Duisenova.

The higher education sector is also responding to changing trends. More than 2,800 educational programs have been developed taking into account professional standards, 166 of them are innovative.

"Regional atlases of new professions are being developed for advanced training. They include the current and future demands of the labor market in all regions of the country," explained Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

"This work is very important. It is necessary to work out the issues of increasing educational grants for educational institutions where training is carried out taking into account professional standards. Our main goal is to train personnel who will be able to easily find a job after graduation. And all parties will benefit from this," the Deputy Prime Minister summed up.
