177,000 new student places to appear in Astana by 2027

The head of the Ministry of Education, Gani Beisembayev, and the mayor of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek, discussed ways to improve the educational infrastructure of the city. The main areas of development include increasing the availability of quality education, guaranteeing safety, ending three-shift training, expanding the network of kindergartens and building new educational institutions, as well as recruiting qualified teaching staff, El.kz reports.

This year, the construction of 11 new schools has already begun in the capital, including 10 schools providing 13,600 student places, with the support of the Ministry of Education. It is planned to open 65 schools with a total number of places of 177 thousand by 2026, which will make it possible to switch to two-shift training.

"We plan to create a safe and comfortable environment for the comprehensive development of the younger generation. The Ministry is ready to assist the administration of Astana in solving key problems, paying special attention to the quality of education and upbringing, as well as attracting highly qualified specialists," said Gani Beisembayev.
