16,666 flights delayed in 2023 in Kazakhstan
Over the past year, Kazakhstan recorded 16,666 delayed flights out of a total of 71,895, according to Civil Aviation Committee, El.kz reports.
The committee stressed that the duration of delays has been reduced compared to last year. The main factors influencing the delays were the late arrival of aircraft, human error, weather conditions and technical reasons.
The Civil Aviation Committee also reported that on the instructions of Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, a working group has been formed, which will develop an algorithm for coordinated actions of airports, airlines and meteorologists in the event of weather conditions that interfere with flights.
"In 2024, the priority will be to improve the quality of passenger service and protect their rights," the committee said.
