With the opening of the 12th theatrical season at Astana Opera, a rich programme has also been prepared for the audience at the opera house’s Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall. It will begin on September 8 with the Eight Seasons concert, beloved by the capital’s audience, El.kz cites astanaopera.kz.

“With the onset of autumn in the capital, residents and guests of the city eagerly await the start of the theatrical season, anticipating attending engrossing performances and concerts featuring their favourite artists. Traditionally, with the start of the season, the cozy Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall also opens its doors. Therefore, first and foremost, I would like to congratulate our dear viewers on this wonderful event and wish them inspiration, vivid emotions and impressions from exciting encounters with the classics. We, in turn, promise to do everything possible to meet the audience’s expectations and make the twelfth theatrical season rich in performances by famous musicians and promising young artists, new concert programs and spectacular productions for adults and our youngest theatregoers,” Marzhan Zhakenova, head of the Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall, said.

It is important to note that the Eight Seasonsmusical evening will be presented on September 8 by the brilliant Astana Opera Chamber Orchestra and its principal first violin, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Bagdat Abilkhanov. Classical music aficionados will have an opportunity to enjoy one of the most popular works in the world – the famous cycle of four violin concerti Le Quattro Stagioni by the outstanding composer Antonio Vivaldi. The renowned violinist Bagdat Abilkhanov and the opera house’s orchestra will also perform Astor Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas, which will transport the listeners into the world of sultry Argentine tango.

A few days later, on September 12, there will be a magnificent chamber concert Masterpieces for Everyone. That evening, the opera house’s talented instrumentalists will offer the audience a fascinating musical journey through the countries of Europe. Violinist Assel Zhakiyanova, cellist Daniyar Kadyralinov and pianist Zaru Zhazykbayeva will perform Piano Trio No. 4 Dumky, Op. 90 by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, Romanian Folk Dances for Violin and Piano by Hungarian classic Béla Bartók, and David Popper’s Concert Polonaise for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 14. In addition, as part of the concert, a quintet of saxophone players consisting of Zhanna Aktassova, Aidar Perdebek, Marina Pen, Inabat Tolegen and Menslu Temirbekova will take the stage with an interesting work Suite Hellenique by Spanish composer Pedro Iturralde.

“Zaru Zhazykbayeva and I have been performing as a duet for a couple of years now. She is an excellent accompanist and solo instrumentalist. And the idea of joint performances as a trio arose thanks to Daniyar Kadyralinov. We immediately formed an ensemble and wanted to continue making music. We chose Dvořák’s piano trio for this evening together. The piece inspired us with its originality and melodiousness, which can be heard in our Kazakh folk music as well,” Assel Zhakiyanova said. “The Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall always features interesting musicians on its stage, and we wanted to add an additional note of originality to the program. Thus, being in warm friendly relations with saxophonist Zhanna Aktassova, I invited her to join our concert. She, in turn, decided that the performance of the Suite Hellenique by five saxophonists would be what is needed based on the context of the evening,” the violinist explained.

Let us add that on September 15, the Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall will also host a concert Autumn with the Viennese Classics, where the State Trio of the Republic of Kazakhstan Forte-Trio under the direction of Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, pianist Timur Urmancheyev will offer high art aficionados a nuanced interpretation of works by outstanding Austrian composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.
