Zhanseit Tuimebayev: Signing memorandum opens new prospects for scientific expert community

The Scientific Expert Council of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and the National Center of Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation in capital’s National Archives building. Within the framework of signing memorandum the exhibition of rare manuscripts and books of the people of Kazakhstan was organized.

The purpose of this event was to form a working platform for the study and research of rare publications and manuscripts, as well as to attract representatives of ethnic minorities to the work on establishing new relations with similar institutions in the historical homeland.


The event was attended by Deputy Chairman - Head of Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kozhagapanov, members of APK’s Scientific Expert Council, public figures, scientists, representatives of ethno-cultural and youth associationOpening the event, Deputy Head of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that signing memorandum opens up new prospects for the scientific expert community of Kazakhstan in strengthening public accord and national unity of the people.


"Within the framework of the program "Ruhani Zhangyru", the Assembly implements a large-scale scientific and educational project, which includes a number of independent projects. These are "Qazaqtanu", "Memory For Sake Of Future", "Conversations On the Silk Road", aimed at the formation of a national historical consciousness. Our civic identity is formed on this basis" Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

According to the speaker, within the framework of article "Seven Facets of the Great Steppe" by Head of State, a great deal of work is being done to modernize the historical consciousness, strengthen and develop the national code, which is based on the openness of consciousness.

"All this work requires addressing the most ancient written sources. They are sacral artifacts of our history and are collected here at the National Center of Manuscripts and Rare Books. Currently, work is under way through the sources of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan to establish links with the Al-Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and other institutions of this direction. We hope that we will delight our scholars and readers by obtaining copies of ancient manuscript sources related to Kazakhstan from abroad" Head of APK concluded.


Assembly of People of Kazakhstan gave books to the fund of the National Center of Manuscripts and Rare Books. At the end of the event, guests were introduced the work of the Department of Restoration and Conservation Work and the reading room of the national center.
