Yulia Putintseva, ranked 34th in the world ranking, reached the third round of the prestigious WTA-1000 tennis tournament in Cincinnati, USA. In the second round of the competition, she knocked out World No. 2 Coco Gauff,  El.kz reports with reference to the Tennis Federation.

The match ended in favor of the Kazakh athlete with a score of 6:4, 2:6, 6:4.

The fight between the athletes lasted 1 hour and 54 minutes. In the next round, Julia will face the Spaniard Paula Badosa.
