YouTube Premium subscription available in Kazakhstan

Residents of Kazakhstan have access to YouTube Premium. Users who subscribe will be able to enjoy ad-free video watching, play videos in the background, as well as save videos for offline viewing and other additional features, El.kz reports.

There are several YouTube Premium subscription options available for Kazakhstanis, including individual, family, and student.

The cost of a YouTube Premium subscription in Kazakhstan varies depending on the device: when a user visits the service page from an iPhone, an individual subscription costs 3,500 tenge per month, while when accessed from a computer, it will cost 2,700 tenge per month.

In the context of global prices, in many countries, a YouTube Premium subscription costs $11.99 (about 5,400 tenge) per month.

Earlier, Minister of Digital Development Bagdat Mussin promised the launch of YouTube Premium in Kazakhstan in 2023, but later noted that the launch may not take place until the end of the year.

YouTube is one of the most popular video hosting sites in the world, ranking second in terms of the number of visitors and entering the top of the most popular social networks among Kazakhstanis.

The service was created in February 2005 and acquired by Google in November 2006 for $1.65 billion.
