The «UN Plaza» hosted “Youth for Resilience in Central Asia” forum, which brought together delegates from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, El.kz cites MFA.
The Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Zhanibek Abdrashov, made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of youth participation in global initiatives and presenting Kazakhstan’s efforts in this area, including support for volunteer movements. He also stressed the importance of creation a Regional UN Hub in Almaty to coordinate work on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
The UNDP Permanent Representative in Kazakhstan, Katarzyna Wawiernia, and the Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Japan, Kanata Tomohiro, also delivered a welcoming speech at the forum. At the panel session, Svetlana Zhakupova, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, spoke on behalf of Kazakhstan. The forum participants discussed the development of youth employment as the way to a sustainable future in Central Asian countries.
