Young taekwondo athlete from Astana became world champion in Mexico

A young athlete from Astana won the title of champion at World Taekwondo Championship among schoolchildren In the Mexican city of Mazatlán, El.kz reports with reference to the official website of the akimat of the capital.gov 

The tournament was held at the end of June and was attended by schoolchildren from 14 countries.

The national team of Kazakhstan included the best representatives of domestic taekwondo clubs "King Club Astana" and "Legion".

On the first day of the competition, a student of the 6th grade of the school-lyceum "Nur-Orda" in Astana Ayatzhan Amirkhanov (coaches - Aral Sadykov, Dinara Kabdulova) was awarded the title of world champion in the weight category up to 50 kg in the age group up to 12 years.

In the team competition, the national team of Kazakhstan won third place, losing to the national teams of Taiwan and Brazil.
