Answering journalists' questions, the champion from Norway Magnus Carlsen noted the hospitality of Kazakhstan as the host country and thanked for the chapan, which was presented to him at the opening of the championship, El.kz reports.

According to the press service of the KCF, talking about the preparation for the games and, in general, training, the current champion noted that he does not visit a psychologist, as he prefers to tune in to the game on his own.

He said that the game of chess cannot be compared with work. He thinks about chess almost constantly, analyzing the ways of playing with this or that opponent. Training and the game itself, in his opinion, is a constant improvisation, and there is no rigid schedule or regulations.

When asked by a journalist whether Magnus was fond of other popular board games, such as Go, he replied that he was familiar with the rules of the game of Go, but he liked Japanese chess more.

Speaking about chess, he noted that the peculiarity of this game is the ability to make a clear decision in a short time with very limited initial data, which will ultimately affect the entire further course of the game. This feature of the game is very similar to life, says Magnus, where each of us has to make important and fateful decisions every day.

Darmen Sadvakasov noted that the holding of the World Chess Championship in Kazakhstan will give the world new champions representing our country.

At the end of the press conference, Magnus, at the request of a young chess lover, told how to become a world champion. According to the Norwegian, it is very simple to do this - "it is enough to beat the previous champion."
