Kazakhstan is considering the introduction of a single time zone, which may happen in the near future. The prepared relevant decree is being considered by state bodies, El.kz reports.
The initiator of the development of the decree is the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The head of the department, Arman Shakkaliev, stressed that the draft resolution is under consideration by state bodies.
"We have prepared a draft resolution. It is under consideration by government agencies. A decision will be made in the near future. We are in the process of making a decision. The accuracy of the transition to a single time zone will depend on the publication on the 'Open ABOs' portal. As soon as the ordinance is published, everyone will be informed almost simultaneously. It will happen in the near future," the minister said.
Earlier, the discussion of this topic on the portal "Open legal acts" has already collected seven pages of comments, mostly negative. A decision on the transition to a single time zone is expected in the near future. Scientists have previously justified the need to introduce a single time zone for Kazakhstan, and Minister Shakkaliev himself stressed that the wrong time zone can affect health, even to the point of possible consequences such as cancer and suicide.
