Thanks to the network of seismic stations around the metropolis, data on the tremors that have occurred will automatically go to the city's Emergency Department and the Institute of Seismology, El.kz reports with reference to the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Residents will be able to receive an alert almost instantly through a mobile application. 11 objects have already been placed in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau. It is planned to install 17 more.The Darmen application is free.Now about 100 thousand Kazakhstanis are active users of the program.
It should be added that today the current network of Kazakhstan's earthquake monitoring system has 68 stations. Most of them were deployed in Soviet times in potentially dangerous seismic zones.
