Kazakhstan is preparing to launch its first Unmanned taxi service, El.kz reports.
According to the government’s press service, the project was presented by the IT company Jet Sharing at the Digital Bridge 2025 international technology forum in Astana. The developers announced that the test phase is planned to begin in 2026, with full operation expected in 2027.
According to the company’s founder, the core of the technology will be an artificial intelligence-based system that will not only control the vehicle but also manage order distribution and pricing.
One of the main tasks during the preparation stage will be to create a 3D map of the city, essential for the navigation of autonomous vehicles. Alatau City is being considered as the pilot area, with expansion to Astana and Almaty planned later on.
