Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and countries of OTS exceeded $8 billion

For the period January-August 2023, the trade turnover between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the members of the Organization of Turkic States reached $8.1 billion, El.kz reports.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Kazakhstan's export operations to the OTS countries show significant volumes, among which the leading positions are occupied by such goods as crude oil worth $1.3 billion, wheat with exports of $655.4 million, copper and copper cathodes worth $640.2 million, as well as unprocessed aluminum and oil products with export figures of $221.2 and $214.1 million.

Other export items include semi-finished products made of unalloyed steel, unprocessed zinc, wheat flour and mixed mineral fertilizers, as well as water, including mineral and carbonated water, with added sugar.

Import flows to Kazakhstan from amalgamated communities are also highly active. The main imported goods are $262.7 million worth of car bodies, $129.4 million worth of internal combustion engines, and $120.3 million worth of precious metal concentrate ores. The list also includes women's clothing, medicines, additional petroleum products and components for cars and tractors.

Such trade indicators testify to the close and multifaceted economic ties between Kazakhstan and the OTS states, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in the region.
