According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of 2024, 566.5 thousand foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan, which is 50.7 thousand people more compared to the same period last year, El.kz reports.
Russia had the highest number of foreign visits at 186.1 thousand followed by China at 69,918 tourists, and India at 53 695.
The top five also included Turkey (30,312) and the United States (19,597).
"The growth of tourist traffic from India, Turkey and the United States demonstrates the growing interest in Kazakhstan in the international arena. We continue to improve the infrastructure and create conditions for the convenience of tourists from all over the world," said Nurtas Karipbayev, chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
