President of Kazakhstan received akim of the Karaganda region Yermaganbet Bulekpayev. The meeting discussed the key points of the socio-economic development of the region for 2023, which the President emphasized, El.kz reports.
According to Akorda, the achievements of the Karaganda region in 2023 include a significant increase in industrial production to 3.1 trillion tenge in 11 months. Investments in fixed assets increased by 16.3%, reaching 727 billion tenge. Noticeable growth was observed in the manufacturing industry, mechanical engineering, light industry and pharmaceuticals. The small and medium-sized business sector employs 45% of the active population, with more than 100,000 operating companies.
The creation of more than 25,000 jobs made it possible to reduce the unemployment rate to 4.1% and poverty to 2.7%. Real incomes of the population increased by 4.7%. In the social sphere, the construction of 92 rural health facilities and the modernization of two inter-district hospitals have begun. As part of the Comfortable School project, 10 facilities are being built, which will provide 7,100 places for schoolchildren by 2024.
Yermaganbet Bulekpayev reported on the progress of the heating season and the current situation in the backbone enterprise Qarmet. They discussed the measures taken by the new investor to stabilize production, plans for modernization and labor safety. The akim also reported on the state of the social sphere and the implementation of the projects "Auyl – El Besigi" and "Auyl Amanat".
Following the meeting, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of important instructions aimed at further development of the Karaganda region and improving the well-being of its residents.
The Head of State also stressed the need for special control over the situation at the facilities of Qarmet.
