Tokayev meets with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis

On the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

The Head of State stressed that Greece is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union, noting that Athens is one of the five largest trading partners of Astana among the EU countries. Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted the huge potential for strengthening Kazakh-Greek cooperation and expressed readiness to expand cooperation across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda.

During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties, and also stressed the importance of diversifying mutual trade. An exchange of views took place on energy development and decarbonization of the economy.

The participants of the meeting agreed to maintain an active political dialogue. The head of the Greek government accepted the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to visit Kazakhstan.
