The Head of State met with Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
During the meeting the Head of State called Malaysia one of the important and reliable partners of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia.
- Kazakhstan and Malaysia are linked by long-standing ties of friendship and mutual cooperation. We have good traditions in this area, so I believe that your visit will give a powerful impetus to the further development of relations between Kazakhstan and Malaysia. We are ready to make additional efforts to promote our interaction and cooperation in many important areas," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
According to the President, over the thirty years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, mutually beneficial cooperation is becoming more and more important taking into account modern geopolitical and economic realities.
Anwar Ibrahim thanked the Head of our state for the warm welcome and noted that he attaches great importance to this visit, as evidenced by the representatives of the Malaysian delegation that arrived in Astana.
The interlocutors considered ways to expand cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment and humanitarian spheres. An exchange of views also took place on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
Further, the negotiations continued in an expanded format.
