Tokayev meets with head of International Department of the Chinese Communist Party

The head of state received the head of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party Liu Jianchao, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the Kazakh-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership is focused on the future.

“Today, our strong ties are an example of mutually beneficial and effective interstate cooperation based on strong ties of eternal friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. We value these relations, and all actions are being taken on our part to further strengthen comprehensive cooperation with the PRC. I also highly appreciate the friendly nature of relations with the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party  and President Xi Jinping," he said.

The Head of State expressed confidence that within the framework of the upcoming visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Astana to participate in the 2nd Central Asia-China summit in June this year, new horizons of strategic cooperation will be outlined.

Emphasizing the common positions of Kazakhstan and China within the framework of multilateral structures, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supported the global initiatives of President Xi Jinping to build a just world order in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter.

In addition, the Head of State reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to the "one China" policy.

In his turn, Liu Jianchao conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to the President.

During the conversation, ways to strengthen cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres were also considered. In particular, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed to the huge potential for increasing trade and implementing major investment projects in the fields of transport and logistics, energy and the development of artificial intelligence.
