Tokayev: Kazakhstan must become a truly digital country within three years

At the plenary session of the Digital Bridge 2025 forum in Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, El.kz reports.

The Head of State emphasized the special significance of the international forum for exchanging ideas and strengthening digital cooperation.

“Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends, welcome to the international forum Digital Bridge 2025. First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the international participants who came here especially to attend this forum,” the President said.

According to Head of State, over 67,000 people, over 500 IT companies, and representatives from more than 100 countries have taken part in the forum.

“Kazakhstan, as the main digital hub of Eurasia, will continue this important work,” Tokayev noted.

The President stressed that humanity has entered the era of artificial intelligence, the development of which directly affects politics, the economy, and the lives of billions of people.

“According to experts, global investment in the development of artificial intelligence has exceeded $1 trillion in recent years. Its contribution to the world economy in the coming decades could reach $7 trillion. However, this will not be possible without the responsible use of this technology,” Tokayev stated.

He recalled that over 30 years ago, Kazakhstan renounced nuclear weapons, making a historic choice in favor of peace and security.

“At the recent session of the UN General Assembly, I reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to contribute to the global dialogue on the digital environment and the development of artificial intelligence,” he emphasized.

“We have set a goal — Kazakhstan must become a truly digital country within the next three years,” the President added.
