Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritagePresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstani teachers on Teacher’s Day and stated that supporting the teaching profession would remain one of the state’s priorities, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
A ceremonial event marking the professional holiday was held at the Akorda. The Head of State noted that Teacher’s Day had become a holiday that brings society together and had acquired nationwide significance.
“Teachers hold a special place in the life of every person. I believe no one would dispute this. Respect for teachers is one of the most important characteristics of a civilised society,” the President said.
Tokayev recalled Abai’s words that the development of an individual largely depends on having a good teacher, as well as Mukhtar Auezov’s well-known statement: “Teacher is a great name.”
According to the President, the role of teachers is becoming increasingly important amid the rapid development of technology and the growing volume of information.
“It is our shared duty to treat teachers with the utmost respect and to thank them for their dedicated work for the benefit of the nation’s future. This is particularly important today, as the flow of information continues to expand and advanced technologies are developing at a rapid pace. The role of the teacher is therefore becoming even more significant,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.
The President also stated that the state would continue to provide systematic support to teachers. He recalled the adoption of the Law “On the Status of a Teacher” and the establishment of the honorary title “Honoured Teacher of Kazakhstan”.
In addition, several teachers in the country have been awarded the highest state distinction “Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan”. Teacher’s Day itself was officially designated as 5 October.
“We will continue to honour teachers at the national level. This is a matter of particular importance for our state,” Tokayev emphasised.
