Under the chairmanship of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a meeting of Kazakhstan’s Security Council was held to discuss key issues related to internal and external migration, El.kz reports citing Aqorda press service.
Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev as well as the Ministers of Internal Affairs, Digital Development, Labor, and Social Protection, delivered reports at the meeting.
The discussions focused on major trends and forecasts, including the drivers of population movement in the current geopolitical context.
The Head of State emphasized that migration policy should take into account the demographic situation, future projections, and security challenges.
The President highlighted the importance of preventing illegal migration and the need to stimulate the growth of human capital.
“It is necessary to ensure control over all migration processes while simultaneously creating conditions to improve the quality of the country’s labor resources,” Tokayev noted.
Following the meeting, the Government was instructed to review the functions of state bodies in the field of migration, strengthen the integration of information systems, and enhance the effectiveness of efforts in this area.
