Tokayev: Astana should become garden city in 5 years

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Akimat of Astana to turn the capital into a garden city in 5 years, El.kz reports with reference to the Telegram channel of Akorda.

"The next issue is the greening of the city. Unfortunately, today we cannot call Astana a "green" city. We do not have a single concept of greening the city.

The potential of the Zelenstroy nursery is not fully used. As a result, green spaces die due to lack of proper care. In addition, only 10% of perennial plants are used in the landscaping of the city. Inefficient spending on annual plants is an unacceptable luxury”- the Head of State said.

Thus, Kazakh Leader instructed the akimat to turn the capital into a garden city in 5 years.

Also he charged the Akimats of Astana and Akmola region together with the Ministry of Ecology to solve the problem regarding the uncontrolled dump cites
