“The video is fake”: Press office of Kazakh President comments on viral video with underground city in Astana

A video has been circulating on social media falsely claiming that there is an underground city under Astana with tunnels connecting government buildings,El.kz reports.

The video shows network of tunnels which lead to the presidential palaces and other government buildings allowing officials to move through in the cold season.

The press service of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan officially denied this information.

"The video is fake. There is no underground city with warm tunnels connecting government buildings" the message reads.
