Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageTeam Kazakhstan delivered an outstanding performance capturing the gold medals in the final of the 12th International Olympiad “Mathematics Without Borders – 2025,” held from June 28 to July 1 in Nessebar, Bulgaria, El.kz reports.
This year, over 1,000 participants from 40 countries participated at the event. Kazakhstan was represented by eight school students.
Arlan Sakhanov, a 5th-grade student at School-Lyceum No. 72 in Astana, won a gold medal. He was awarded the title “Math Star of the Tournament 2025” as the best representative of the national team, and also earned a bronze medal in the team category.
Baizhan Moldagali from Semey (4th grade) won a silver medal, as well as a gold medal in the team event.
Akylzhan Spandiyar (6th grade, Almaty) earned a silver medal and a bronze medal in the team event. Alina Nepsha (10th grade, Almaty) was awarded a bronze medal in the individual category, while Islam Bissenaliev (6th grade, Kulsary) received a bronze medal in the team category.
The International Olympiad “Mathematics Without Borders” is held annually in three stages. The final traditionally takes place in the summer in Bulgaria and serves not only as a competition but also as a platform for knowledge exchange and building friendships among school students from different countries.
