The National Security Committee together with the Prosecutor General's Office delivered a citizen of Kazakhstan from the city of Antalya to Almaty. He is suspected of participating in the activities of an international terrorist organization, El.kz reports.
According to the investigation, the man had previously left for Syria, where he joined an armed group. Later, he moved to Turkey, where he was detained by local law enforcement agencies.
The detainee decided to voluntarily surrender to the authorities of Kazakhstan. A pre-trial investigation provided by Part 2 of Article 257 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan is underway.
