Strengthening cultural ties is key to deep interpenetration of cultures of fraternal peoples of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov met with Sirojiddin Saidov, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, El.kz cites MFA.

The meeting was attended by 4 Vice-Chairmen, Uzbek writers and translators, as well as other members of this association.

S. Saidov acquainted the Head of the Diplomatic Mission with the current activities of the Writers' Union, as well as presented the 100-volume edition of works by great writers of Turkic-speaking countries prepared and published by the Writers' Union, translated into Uzbek. Among them are famous Kazakh writers such as Abai Kunanbayev, Mukhtar Auezov, Olzhas Suleimenov, Sabit Mukanov and others.

The head of the association also noted the important role and personal merit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in supporting modern writers and translating the works of great personalities, including from neighboring countries.

In turn, the Head of the diplomatic mission Beibut Atamkulov noted that here our countries are moving synchronously and thanks to the efforts of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, literary creativity in the country finds support at the highest level.

For his part, the Ambassador also confirmed the high importance of translating Kazakh literature into Uzbek and Uzbek literature into Kazakh for a deeper interpenetration of the cultures of our fraternal peoples.

During the conversation, Atamkulov also informed about the upcoming readings of Alisher Navoi in Kazakhstan, dedicated to the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan and invited representatives of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan to participate in these cultural events
