State and prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia discussed in Addis Ababa

Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Permanent Representative to the African Union Barlybay Sadykov held a meeting with the Foreign Affairs State Minister of Ethiopia Mesganu Arega, El.kz cites MFA.

During the meeting, Ambassador informed Arega about the political and economic reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan, announced in the State-of-the-Nation Address of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 1 September 2022. Sadykov also informed about the holding of early parliamentary election in Kazakhstan on March 19 this year and stressed the features of constitutional changes that strengthen the democratic legal basis of the upcoming election, as well as the role of parliament in the new political system of the country.

In addition, the parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, joint work plans for 2023, shared views on topical issues of the international agenda, considered issues of cooperation within international organizations.

At the end of the meeting, interlocutors confirmed their intention to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
