South African parliament seeks to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan

In South Africa’s legislative capital, Cape Town, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Yerkin Akhinzhanov held productive meetings with the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Angela Thokozile Didiza, El.kz cites MFA.

During these discussions, the Ambassador outlined the key reforms and initiatives being spearheaded by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Kazakhstan. He emphasized the country’s commitment to enhancing its bilateral relationship with South Africa, proposing deeper cooperation in key areas such as the economy, trade, and education. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the contractual and legal frameworks to ensure lasting collaboration.

Both parliamentary leaders expressed South Africa’s interest in expanding ties with Kazakhstan, underscoring their confidence in the potential for both nations to embark on joint projects across various sectors. They noted that such initiatives could create new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

The meetings concluded with an agreement to continue dialogue aimed at fostering stronger inter-parliamentary cooperation.
