SOS buttons to appear in tourist places in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, it is planned to install SOS buttons for tourists on water bodies and in the mountains, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev said. These devices will be placed in areas where there is no Internet coverage, El.kz reports.

"The issue of introducing an SOS button for a tourist security system, which will work in areas without Internet coverage, is being worked out. This is a domestic development," the head of the department said at a government meeting.

The minister noted that on the eve of the summer season, it is especially important to ensure safety for Kazakhstanis and tourists. Local executive bodies must take measures to prevent accidents on the water and improve safety on water bodies and in the mountains.

These measures are aimed at increasing the level of safety and trust among tourists and locals, especially in remote and hard-to-reach areas of the country.
