Social Media Wowed by Season Opening in Balkhash

With the arrival of summer, the beach season has officially kicked off on the shores of Lake Balkhash. A video from one of the resorts is gaining popularity on social media, sparking discussions among users, El.kz reports.

The author of the video shared that he and his family left Almaty at 3:00 AM and reached the lake by 9:00 AM. According to him, the weather on June 1st was truly summery, with temperatures soaring to +36 degrees Celsius.

The footage shows an almost empty beach, clean sandy shores, and crystal-clear water. The author noted that while there were few vacationers in the morning, cars kept arriving, and he expected the beach to be packed by lunchtime.

Users were particularly struck by the color of the water and the overall look of the coastline. Many compared the scenery to popular foreign resorts. Some even claimed that certain Balkhash beaches look just as good as, and sometimes even better than, those in Turkey.

The video served as another reminder of the growing popularity of domestic tourism in Kazakhstan. With the onset of hot weather, Lake Balkhash traditionally becomes one of the most sought-after destinations for residents of Almaty, Karaganda, and other cities across the country.
