Shchuchinsk hosts IBU courses for biathlon coaches

On the basis of the Olympic Training Center in Shchuchinsk, training courses of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) were held for 20 young Kazakh coaches, as well as colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and Georgia. The event was held with the support of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to Olympic.kz.

The first day of the course began with a lecture by the IBU Development Director Dagmara Gerasimuk. After the theory, all participants moved on to the practical part of the course.

On the second day of the seminar, the coaches gave a lecture on basic shooting techniques. The participating specialists discussed breath control during shooting, gun stabilization and aiming at the target.

On the third day, the list of foreign specialists was replenished by the former coach of the national teams of Norway, Austria, Switzerland and the United States Trond Nystad.

On the fourth day, lessons were held in three different locations. The theoretical lecture was conducted by Professor of Nazarbayev University Dmitry Viderman. The practical part with the participation of foreign specialists was first held in the gym, where the coaches were engaged in strength training, and then at the stadium they skated on rollers, consolidating the materials learned in practice.

After successfully passing the exam, the coaches received certificates from the IBU.
