In five years, the share of 5G technology will be increased to 75% in three cities of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports.

Minister of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin said at the Government meeting that today the eGovMobile application is used by 13 million Kazakhstanis, more than 17 million services have been provided.

"In the direction of new digital opportunities, it is planned to provide broadband Internet to all cities and district centers. If you look at the current situation with mobile  communications, then more than 3 thousand settlements are provided with 3G technology, 4G covers 1,628 settlements," the minister said.

At the same time, according to Musin, the outdated 3G technology in Kazakhstan will finally be replaced by 2027.

"4G mobile technology will also be increased by 100%, and the optical infrastructure by 90%. Also, by 2027, the share of 5G technology will be increased to 75% in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, and in regional centers by 60%," Musin said.

The next important event, according to Bagdat Musin, is the connection of roads of republican and regional significance to mobile  communications and the Internet.

"Currently, only 25% of these roads have internet access. And mobile communication is 86%. Until 2027, 100% of these roads will be covered by the Internet and mobile communications," the minister said.

These events will be carried out within the framework of the National Project "Accessible Internet" by financing the tax preferences provided to operators and their investments and the expenses of the republican and local budgets.
