Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Defense and Security Askar Shakirov met with Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan Khayrullo Ibodzoda and the Republic of Armenia Armen Ghevondyan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting with the Tajik diplomat discussed the issues of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, in particular, the implementation of the Action Plan for 2022-2024 in this area, signed following the visit of the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev to Tajikistan in May 2022.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia expressed his country's interest in further intensifying mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, including in the field of attracting investments. An exchange of views on issues of ensuring international security also took place.
The diplomats were acquainted with the implementation of comprehensive reforms carried out in Kazakhstan at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as with the preparations for the upcoming elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament.
Following the meetings, the readiness of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats was noted.
