Schoolgirl from Aktau wins at international Olympiad in mental arithmetic in Antalya

A student of the 9th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in the city of Aktau, Asiya Kobylashova, won the international Olympiad in mental arithmetic WAMAS-2023, which was held in Antalya, Turkey,  El.kz reports with reference to the press service of NIS.

The competition was attended by 400 young mathematicians from various countries, including Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Participants demonstrated their knowledge in the field of mental arithmetic. Winners and super champions were awarded cash prizes ranging from $100 to $300.

The WAMAS Olympiad has become a traditional annual event, and this year it was held for the fifth time. The competition was organized by the Administration of the city of Antalya and the Association of Friendship and Culture of Kazakhstan and the states of Eurasia.
