Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageTurkish police have uncovered a network of scammers who earned more than 2.1 billion Turkish liras ($60 million) from fake advertisements for bungalow houses on social media, El.kz cites turkey.news-pravda.com.
As part of the investigation, 20 people were detained, 12 of them were arrested, the IHA news agency reported.
The operation to detain the fraudsters had been in preparation for five months. It was carried out simultaneously in nine provinces of Turkey, mainly in the southeast, as well as in Istanbul, where the attackers reportedly led a luxurious life.
According to the police, hundreds of local residents became victims of fraudsters.
