Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that he pays special attention to improving the social welfare of workers in the cultural sector. According to Kazakh leader, supporting culture is now a constitutional duty of the state, El.kz reports.

"As Head of State, I place special emphasis on improving the social conditions of workers in this field who devotedly serve the spiritual development of the country," the President emphasized.

Over the past five years, the salaries of culture workers have doubled. Starting from the current year, 2026, the amount of state stipends for cultural figures will also be doubled.

Tokayev noted that 61 new cultural facilities were built across the country last year, and more than 250 institutions underwent renovation. In 2025, three museums were granted "National" status.

The Head of State also proposed granting "National" status to the Maxim Gorky State Academic Russian Drama Theater and the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic, as well as "Academic" status to the Sabit Mukanov Pavlodar Regional Kazakh Music and Drama Theater.
