Round table dedicated to 10th anniversary of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Hungary held in Budapest

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Abzal Saparbekuly participated in a roundtable discussion commemorating the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Hungary,El.kz cites MFA.

The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs.

In his welcoming remarks, Saparbekuly noted that the two countries are linked by deep historical roots and also recalled that Hungary was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1991.

Additionally, the Kazakh Ambassador underscored that recent developments have witnessed a notable enhancement in bilateral relations, which can be attributed to the “Eastern Opening” policy pursued by Hungary and the multi-vector foreign policy adopted by Kazakhstan.

Saparbekuly also dwelt on the growing economic ties, which makes Hungary a key partner of our country in the Central and Eastern Europe region.

At the end of his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan emphasized that inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries have been significantly intensified.

Among the speakers at the event were Director of Strategy of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs Tamás Péter Baranyi, senior research fellow of the Institute Sándor Szeremet, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Gábor Mikecz, project coordinator of the Representative Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest Dávid Biró, Kazakh doctoral student of the University of Public Service Madina Igibayeva, as well as chief advisor, senior research fellow of the Institute László Vasa, who moderated the round table.

The participants of the round table stressed the importance of continuing the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary, the importance of the scholarship program “Stipendium Hungaricum”, the development of the transport potential of our country and the Middle Corridor.

At the end of the round table, the participants answered the questions of the guests present.
